Christmas 2016
Well… it’s that time of year again, Christmas. I suppose
Some nights when I need to get out of the house I like to go visit my long time friend Mike at his restaurant, The Summit Family Restaurant in Camp Hill, Pa. I go in an hour or two before closing, after the day has died down, and pop open my computer, drink some coffee and maybe eat a turkey club or something.
On a cold December morning I met up with a long time friend who I haven’t seen in a while, ol’ Chuck aka Huck Photo. It would seem the older I get the more difficult it is for me to see certain people. People I used to see multiple times a week I am now lucky to see multiple times a year.
A couple of Sundays ago I was asked by my parents if I would go with them to help them cut down their Christmas tree. Aside from the fact that my dad’s back has been troubling him, I eagerly accepted. I love getting outside. I am horrible at planning, but will say yes to going outside almost every time I’m asked.
Recently I was asked to shoot some food photography for a local restaurant, Boomerang Bar & Grill. This isn’t my first go round with food shots, but it is the one I’m most happy with. It is actually only the 3rd time I’ve ever taken pictures of food. I don’t even use my phone to pictures of my Italian subs and fries.
Last Sunday I had the pleasure of linking up with Chris Kuhn, a film photographer based in the Harrisburg area. We originally linked via Instagram. Say what you want about social media and it’s misuse, but I have connected with more like minds on there in the last 6 months than I have in my previous 35 years on this planet.
In early September I had the honor of shooting a wedding for two of my good friends, Keith & Lauren. Being the second wedding that I photographed, I had a bit more of an idea on what to expect. I haven’t shot a wedding since 2008, which I did when one of my friend’s sister was getting married. Seven days before her wedding her photographer cancelled on her, so I stepped in to help out.
